By downloading or using Write About It ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of the app.

About the App

Write About It is a personal reflective journaling application designed to help you build a habit of daily self-reflection. The app lets you write journal entries and receive AI-generated reflections based on your writing. The app is intended for personal use only.

Your Data and Privacy

Your journal entries are stored on your device and, if you are signed in to iCloud, backed up to your own private iCloud account so you can restore them on a new device. The app has no account system of its own and does not store your entries on our own servers.

To generate a reflection, the text of an entry is sent securely to an external AI service for processing. This text is used solely to produce your reflection and is not retained, sold, or used to train models. The app does not collect personal information, require account creation, or track how you use the app. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

AI-Generated Content

Reflections generated by the app are produced by an external AI service based on the text you provide. These reflections are intended for personal insight and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute medical, psychological, therapeutic, or professional advice of any kind. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please seek help from a qualified professional.

The app may also build an optional profile ("Context") from your entries to make reflections feel more personal over time. You can view, edit, or clear this at any time within the app.

Subscriptions and Payments

The app offers a free tier and optional paid subscriptions that unlock additional features. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account.

Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial, where offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Prices are set per region by the App Store and may vary.

User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content you write in your journal. You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and the data stored on it. Deleted entries cannot be recovered; deletion is permanent.

Intellectual Property

The app, its design, name, and all associated content are the intellectual property of its creators. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the app without prior written consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Your use of the app is at your sole risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data or emotional distress.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
